Tony Peterson Named President of Morcon Construction
We are proud to announce the promotion of Tony Peterson to president.
Peterson, who has been with Morcon for over two decades, has played a pivotal role in the company’s growth and innovation, contributing significantly to operations, technology integration, and business development. His leadership will continue to drive Morcon’s success as the company looks toward new opportunities.
Peterson’s journey in construction began during college when he took a part-time role in the office of a small construction management firm. Recognizing the value of hands-on experience, he later pursued fieldwork as an ironworker, contributing to commercial construction projects across the Twin Cities. After earning a degree in Construction Management from the University of Minnesota in 2001, he stepped into his first full-time role as a project manager with Morcon Construction. This blend of field and office experience laid a strong foundation for his eventual leadership. Under his guidance, Morcon has doubled its revenue, secured major national contracts—including high-profile projects at MSP International Airport—and embraced advancements in construction technology.
“Taking care of our people and clients has always been at the heart of what we do,” Peterson said. “It’s an honor to continue strengthening the culture of trust, integrity, and innovation that has defined Morcon for over 40 years. We have an incredibly talented and dedicated team, and I’m excited for the future.”
As president, Peterson is committed to fostering a culture of integrity, hard work, and strong communication, where employees are encouraged to think critically, work independently, and go above and beyond. By staying true to these core values, he strives to cultivate a team of motivated, thoughtful professionals who will continue driving the company’s success in key markets where it has long excelled, including aviation infrastructure and civic and community projects for state, county, and local governments. He is also committed to further advancing the company’s use of technology to enhance project efficiencies and streamline estimating processes.
In conjunction with Peterson’s promotion, Morcon Construction’s founder, Jerry Jullie, will transition into the role of CEO, where he will continue to provide strategic guidance while stepping back from daily operations. He will remain actively involved in financial oversight and long-term planning, ensuring the company’s continued growth and stability. “Tony has been a trusted leader at Morcon for many years, and I have full confidence in his ability to take the company forward,” Jullie said. “His energy, vision, and commitment to integrity will ensure Morcon continues to deliver.”
Founded in 1982, Morcon Construction has built a reputation for excellence, delivering projects with efficiency and integrity. The leadership transition marks an exciting new chapter for the company, reinforcing its commitment to growth, innovation, and outstanding service.
