Meet Morcon: Vincent Guerrino, Project Engineer

Vincent “Vinny” Guerrino is the kind of person who feels right at home in the fast-paced world of construction — whether he’s coordinating field activities onsite, tracking project details, or spending time outdoors hunting, fishing, and riding ATVs on the weekends.
Currently working onsite at the Safety & Security Center project at Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport, Vinny is already gaining hands-on experience on one of the region’s most unique and technically advanced projects while building the foundation for a long-term career in construction management.
A recent graduate of North Dakota State University with a degree in Construction Management and a minor in Business, Vinny was drawn to the industry by the opportunity to work on meaningful projects in collaborative, team-oriented environments where no two days are exactly the same. “I was drawn to Morcon Construction for the opportunity to work on meaningful projects and learn in a hands-on, team-oriented environment,” Vinny said.
As a Project Engineer, Vinny plays an important role in supporting day-to-day field operations. His responsibilities include conducting field observations, managing punch list items, completing daily hh2 documentation, maintaining weekly SWPPP logs, and assisting the Project Manager with additional coordination tasks as needed.
Working on the Safety & Security Center project has provided exposure to the complexity and coordination required on large-scale aviation and public safety facilities. The LEED-certified facility is designed to support emergency response operations at the airport and includes secure areas for incidents such as airport threats or severe weather events, along with specialized spaces including holding cells, monitoring systems, office environments, and extensive parking infrastructure.
For Vinny, one of the biggest lessons so far has been the importance of communication and accountability in construction. “Small details can have a big impact on the schedule,” he explained. “It’s important to keep everyone coordinated, accountable, and moving in the right direction so the project stays on track.”
He describes the culture onsite as fast-paced, collaborative, and safety-focused — an environment where teamwork plays a critical role in project success.
Looking ahead, Vinny is focused on continuing to build his field knowledge and grow into a Project Manager role in the coming years. His long-term goal is to develop the skills and experience needed to effectively manage multiple projects while continuing to learn from the teams around him.
At Morcon, we’re proud to invest in the next generation of construction professionals and provide opportunities for young leaders like Vinny to grow their careers while contributing to impactful projects throughout the region.
