Morcon Awarded Metro Transit Station Project

We are excited to announce, the Metropolitan Council awarded us a $15.9 million dollar contract to take part in construction of the “Orange Line,” a new bus rapid transit system! It will span 17-miles on Interstate 35W between downtown Minneapolis and Burnsville, and the stations will have amenities similar to the Light Rail Blue/Green Lines. This will include ticketing kiosks, signs to show real-time arrival/departure, and modern waiting areas featuring more than just the traditional bus bench.

When asked about winning the contract, our Vice President Tony Peterson said, “This project is honestly perfect for us based on our past experience with Metro Transit. We have successfully completed large projects with them in the past and can’t wait to collaborate again. Additionally, we are  proud of the great team and subcontractor relationships we have that enable us to offer our services at a fair price.” We are honored to have the opportunity to bring modern, convenient, and environmentally friendly public transportation options to those living around the Twin Cities. Commuting to work or going downtown to catch a game will be easier than ever!
