Saint Anthony , Minnesota
Originally built in 1961, this 57-year old elementary school, part of the St. Anthony/New Brighten Independeent School district, was running out of space for its growing student body. Guided by the district's mission to "Educate, Prepare, and Inspire a Community of lifelong learners," Morcon Construction was hired to renovate and expand the school. Construction included major expansions on both the east and west sides of the existing building, with helical piers used on the east side to strengthen the existing structural foundation. New spaces included classrooms, media center, bathrooms, administrative offices and new gymnasium. Updates also included a new secure entrance, new windows to the existing structure, new utility tie-ins and exterior site work.
